With the add-on period having closed on Saturday, the Green Rider Book Soundtrack Kickstarter has officially closed! With $99,297 in funds raised, I find myself looking back at this project with some combination of accomplishment, surprise, and elation (and maybe also a slight sense of withdrawal). It has been an adventure getting to this milestone, for sure, but now that Kristina and I are here, we’re both going to take a HUGE vacation and go hide away in our respective hermit holes.

Juuuuuuust kidding.

We’ve still got work to do, BUT activity has actually slowed down quite a bit. Which means it’s time to start thinking about what I am planning on doing next.

First, now that all orders have been placed for the Kickstarter, it’s time to start ordering all the prints, art books, and other products Kristina and I made available for purchase. For myself, I need to tie up the design of the art book so we can send off to the printers. I’ll also need to start hand-embellishing all the limited edition prints and signing all artwork related items once the prints and books arrive.

I also have QUITE a few photo sessions to catch up on. However, one of the (many) great benefits that has resulted from working on the Green Rider project is that I have gotten much faster at editing my images, so I anticipate being able to get through those pretty quickly.

Aside from that, I am also beginning work on Passages again, which has felt a little bit like catching up with an old friend. I’ve been stewing over several images these past few months while working on Green Rider and my fingers are practically itching to get all the ideas I have down in my sketchbook. I’m also headed to New York City next weekend, so I’m hoping to squeeze in an hour or two at the Garment District to search for fabrics and trims!

As for the next six or so months, at the beginning of August, I’ll be heading down to Houston to help Kristina put all the pledges together (because I’m not cruel and would never make her do all of that by herself!) Finally, in November, I’ll be heading up to Bar Harbor, Maine for Kristen Britain’s The Dream Gatherer book signing event and am hoping for an opportunity to visit all of Sacoridia’s…. er, Acadia’s most beautiful spots!

So, it’s a short update today, but that just means more time for me to get back to work on all the new things that lie ahead. Catch up with you next week!
